A walking tour around Fort de France

We had an overnight stop at Fort de France to check out of Martinique. We anchored in the bay with the fort looming over us. It was very rolly with ferries departing every half hour or so, zooming past us, causing the most awful wake. I would not have been able to stay longer than a day here.

Town Square

After finding the shop where we could check out, we went for a walk around the town.

Beautiful big church

Later in the afternoon, we went walking again, and what a different experience it was. Thank goodness Andrew was with us. We were followed twice and had to double back to ditch the person. The town was empty as everyone was watching France playing Morocco in the semi final.

Choosing Haagen-Daas

After a rocky and rolly night we were pleased to up anchor at dawn, and start making our way further north towards Guadeloupe, with a stop in Prince Rupert Bay, Dominica.

Next stop
